Elizabeth Corning

About Me

Elizabeth Corning (she/her) is a white settler, and queer trans woman based in Tio’tia:ke (Montreal), where she grew up. She is a writer, editor, avid reader, and all-around storytelling enthusiast. She hopes to one day publish her own book, though for now, she focuses on helping others develop their craft, while writing lines of poetry and prose in her notes app.

MY BACKGROUND

Elizabeth did her undergrad at Concordia University, majoring in Honours English Literature, with a minor in Film Studies. She is still currently at Concordia, pursuing a Master’s in Literature and researching trans representation and authorship in fanfiction. She’s been the Fiction Editor for The Void Magazine since 2019.

MY SPECIALTIES

Elizabeth is particularly good at teasing out trans readings of literary works, old and new, and finding creative ways to always bring the conversation back to being queer and trans. As an editor, it is her hope to help elevate and publish the voices of other members of her community, as well as of other marginalized and intersecting identities.

A LITTLE EXTRA

Elizabeth loves getting tattoos, and has several more of them she plans to do eventually. She loves fashion, and takes great pleasure in putting together outfits to go nowhere. She loves coffee, breakfast food, long walks, and spending time with her cat. She is constantly pining for the ocean.
